I've had the contacts arc and not disconnect at 144 vdc. I used a
modified relay from an electric vehicle company: KTA services.

I've done just that with DC rated 24VDC relays intended for marine and heavy
equipment applications. No arcing while disconnecting SQFlexes under load.
