Dan,
Thank you for the the closure.
I thought the find and replace process would be the same as
publishing. Kick off job, and an internal account would take over.
Thank you again for reporting back.

Just thought I would post the answer I ended up with in case somebody
has a similar problem and comes here looking for help.
The problem was with the fact that I didn't know that the find and
replace process uses the credentials of the person who created it to
log in and run. Since I was logged in
Hi Jian
I haven't but I noticed that the process is in fact gone!
I don't think our server is setup to send emails as we never receive emails for
anything.
So does it always take this long? I did only 5-6 pages this time - what if I
need 500?
Also since it was takin this long I changed the t
Hi Dan,
Did you receive task completion email? I usually use that for as
completion indicator.
Alternatively, I would check the async logs, but information in there
is scattered.
Best,

Hi Jian
It's definitely SQL and looks like 2005 version. The server has not been
restarted since I kicked off the task. I did however start the task from the
asynchronous queue a couple of times when I saw it sitting there hoping that it
will run and disappear...
is there anything that can be
Hi Dan,
Database type mattered as there was a bug with MS and Oracle in
version 9. Hence, I asked about database type and ticket status, so
should it be Oracle, it can be resolved quickly.
Since it is using MSSQL, the function should work. Just want to
confirm that the server was not restarted
Hi Jian
It is MSSQL. No, I'm afraid I don't have an OT ticket open for this.
I was hoping that it's a simple thing and was hoping to get the answer here :)

Dan,
You can find out Database type from Server Manager.
Database manipulation is not required.
Is an OpenText ticket available for your issue?

It's RD 9 and SQL from what I understand. Unfortunately I don't have access to
the servers backend and doing anything like restarting them is difficult cause
of lots of red tape...
Database manipulation is out of the question...

Dan,
What version of CMS are you using? Are you using Oracle or MSSQL as
backend?

Hi All
Thanks for you replies!
Jian, it's now been a few hours - is it normal to take that long? The strange
part is that it runs every few minutes then goes back in to waiting state then
runs again, etc... And there is no delete or stop button...

Hi Dan,
Thank you for the details.
Yeah, you are seeing the correct behaviour.
Allow me to elaborate.
It is an asynchronous process. The only real confirmation when it is
done is when you get the email from the system. That's why on the
confirm action dialog, it asks for which email to use to
Actually I can now see that the job is running every few minutes...
This is not supposed to happen is it?

Hi All
I've been looking into the Find and Replace functionality in RD 9.0
I went through the process once relatively painlessly. I was only
working with one page at that time as a test (so I limited the search
using page ID).
After selecting the page to change and clicking start I got the
