it actually was 3.3.4 that the worked right off the bat, not 3.3.3.4.
it said it was falling back to vga16 server. but it still did not work
and gave termination signals. im using the text mode to install it
right now. it seems to be going just fine. although i did find a bug

i hit the next button once, but it didnt do anything, so i clicked it
again, which took me to the dependencies. i didnt check on vc1, sorry.
also my laptop is a gateway 9150LS, x has a funny time with the video.
i do know that with 3.3.3.4 or whatever, that x did actually work w/o
any problems
