I have scrounged through mysql's web site, it was a mess,
dis-organised, docs made no sense.
I tried to have a go at it anyway, only to find that even
when turning on mysql server, the thing says it can't
connect to the database.
How do I get mysql to work? Is it broken?
I just don't understand

Html seems, as per the replies, just what I thought it
is in e mail, useless.
I'm glad I never bothered.
Many thanks for your replies, much appreciated.

You might try booting into single user mode,
as root type
telinit 1
then when your back to the single user mode,
cd to the directory /root and then do the rm .bash_history
then telinit 3 or 5 (whichever you run, 5 is graphics/gui and
3 is usually text only)
That should do it, I hope.

Hey, would you know how to enable bounce

I snooped docs, and nothign found.
I know how to do it in sendmail, via the /etc/mail/access file,
but I can't find it in Postfix, if this Postfix is so much
better, then perhaps I should use it?
Thank you.

Why? What did the screen do or what happened
when you tried to install it?
Did the install go right?
Did it boot up right?
What all did you see?
