I never get a chance

Managed to install redhat 7.1 and up2date it on two computers this

received here finished without problems. The machines are running great.
I've installed 7.1 on a third machine last night. However, I'm running

I'm trying to upgrade the kernel using 2.4.18-19.7.x.i386.rpm.
I've got the dependencies down to just 2.
1. filesystem >=2.1.0 is needed by mkinitrd-3.2.6-1
2. libreadline.so.4 is needed by kernel-utils-2.4-8.13.7.2
I've ftped to updates.redhat.com/7.1/en/os/i386 several times today for

I just installed RH Linux 7.1 without any problems
My network card was discovered and the system is up OK.
After I finished the install, I installed qpopper4.0.4 without a problem

I can telnet on port 110 and get the qpopper server
However, sendmail, ftp, and telnet won't respond
I have a 3Com Etherlink III 3c5905TP which is causing a lot of
headaches.
I have re-installed RH Linux 7.1
During its original installation this card worked fine.
On the new install, the card isn't recognized by the install program.
I booted up in plain DOS and used 3Com's auto configure routine

you set these things up so no conflicts exist. That's my next step.

I started my adventure of installing RH Linux 7.3 after being advised
that my 6.2 system had been hacked and needed to be re-installed from
scratch.
I decided to look at 7.3 on another box that was running Linux 7.1. I
purchased two separate sets of Linux 7.3. Couldn't get the Redhat

I haven't made a decision yet on which is the best path. Both machines
