Hi
I have a machine with two software raid disks, these disks need to be
replaced with bigger disks to increase the size of the /home partition, has
anyone done this before?
Basically I need to:
Set one idsk as faulty in the raid config
Remove the disk from the raid
Remove the disk physically and
Thanks for the help, I was getting towards the solution you sent anyway.
As for LVM, I agree completely, nut unfortunately this is a legacy machine
which I did not build originally

I have messed about with Jabber servers a few times, always installing from
source. As far as I know there isn't an rpm available, but I could be
wrong. If you were going to install it numerous times on RedHat boxes then
you could roll your own rpm, it's not that hard.

I would use ssh if I were you rather than telnet, you can configure it to
have root logins in /etc/ssh/sshd_config

You can also get a plug in for Ximian Evolutio that means you can connect to
an exchange server, but you have to pay for it so I have no idea how
good/bad it is, has anyone else tried it?

Hi
Does anyone know the syntax to grep the past say 5 minutes of a log file, or
a shell script that would do something similar.
Any help appreciated

We run a few virtual web servers and often get people who have changed the
permissions of many of the directories and files within their website root
directory. Has anyone ever seen/written a script that would reset the
permissions on everything below their root directory ie files to 644

Hi
I have recently came to RedHat after using various other flavours of linux,
the main difference between what I am used to and RedHat is the use of rpms
instead of source. Here is my problem.
I installed a RedHat 7.3 machine as a cacheing DNS server, by default
bind-9.2.0 is installed.
I would cheat and use symbolic links
