RE: Linux routing problem

Yes - there is - that's what's so weird - everything looks as though it should work... My ISP programmed this router w/ source remote addresses, as well as assigning one of my new Useable IP's to the ethernet port on the router. The other IP was assigned to the "outside" NIC on my linux server.

Actually the best SSH server I've ever seen was here: ftp://ftp.ssh.org/pub/ssh/ssh-2.4.0.tar.gz Just decompress, untar, and type ./configure make make install Then move the directory wherever you want it to permanently live. the command to start it is

Linux routing problem

2001-01-17 Thread Joel Lansden
Greetings all! I am having a problem with Redhat 6.2 routing the connection to my LAN. I was recently placed on what my ISP calls a "routed connection", rather than a connection using a DSL modem. I was using my Linux box to monitor log traffic, use ipchains, and several other functions, in

You'll need to make sure you have an up-to-date kernel - I recommend 2.3.50. When you compile the kernel, make SURE you enable Asymmetric Multiprocessing support. The kernel will let you know about your system processors every time the system boots up. If you need help w/ your kernel, just

I know it's cheesy, but you could use some of that free software that publishes your dynamic IP address, and put it in one of those free hosting services w/ a script... :) -Original Message- From: Han Liu [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Saturday, June 10, 2000 11:25 AM To: [EMAIL

IDE Tape Drive

2000-06-07 Thread Joel Lansden
Greetings all: I am running kernel 2.3.50 and I have an HP Colorodo 5Gb IDE Tape Drive installed. The kernel detects the tape drive at bootup, and calls it /dev/hdc (at the same time it detects the hard drive cd-rom). My question is, how do I either 1) search out the device file that I would
