Hi there list.
I just felt something had to be said here. In the last few weeks I've seen a
lot of really lousy answers, the most of them with the Red Hat 10/Fedora
stuff, but there have been others. Every now and then someone new stops in
to the list and asks a question everybody else has
Not really sure, but could it be 'Ctrl' + '+' , as in bash?

There's a lot being said about RULE, and I regret the fact that most of the
things said are pointed out by people who don't know what RULE is.
What it is NOT:
* A distro
* A distro that takes packages made by Redhat and cracks them to fit their
own logo.
What it IS:
* A project that tests which
Ok Ed.
I'm not trying to convince anyone. But I just don't see it that way. If I
install postfix instead of sendmail, it's still RedHat. So if I use a script
to automate that election, it's still RedHat.
If I make a script (or app) to choose the packages I want, it's still...

Hi,
Look for the file fstab in the /etc folder and open it with your favorite
text-editor.
Now look for a line like:
/dev/hda8 /mnt/vfat vfat defaults 0 0
and change it to:
/dev/hda8 /mnt/vfat vfat defaults,umask=000 0 0
This will give read/write/execute permision to all users, which is ok
Wasn't there some type of distro proyect that was precisely a RedHat
adaptation for minimal systems?
I saw somthing of the like on the web once. Try some googleing!

installed everything with uptodate.
Thanks in advance,

Hi everybody.
USB devices are not working on my PIII box running RH 9. Canon NU650 scanner
worked on RH 8, before I upgraded. Now I've plugged a Canon BJC2100 printer
via USB (worked fine on LPT:), and neither of them appear on the hardware
browser.
What do I have to check/do to get USB working?
Hi there,
I've updated the kernel with rhn and everything is fine!
Now when I boot, GRUB gives me three options (not literal):
-Redhat kernel xxx-8
-Redhat kernel xxx-18.9
-Windoze
What I would like to know is how I remove the old kernel's entry?
Do I have to remove the old kernel from my

Hi Jean-Sebastien,
Yes, I've already come up with some of that, but it doesn't apply to me.
Mine is a *cable* modem, not a dial-up fax/modem.
Thanks anyway.
