I have been sucessfully using fetchmail to retrieve mail from mindspring,
but for some reason, it does not seem to retrieve any mail from my new
provider, but instead skipps them. I have manualy tried pop retrival and
it works fine. Any suggestions?

I seemed to have a similar problem with my DSL connection. My ISP would
not admit that they were trying to turn off inactive users so I setup a
cron job that sends out a ping every minute. No problems since... I send
out 1 ping every 1 minute in my cron job. And if I have any problems, I
can alway
the
primary server on port 53.

You need to configure Ntescape to use a proxy, namely your squid server.
By default it runs on port 3128.

When I try to use Gimp and I use the scrip-fu to do stuff to my text it
gives an error and says that I have not installed the proper fonts. I have
a stock redhat install, ver.6.1. what do you think I could be missing?

I had the same problem onmy desktop unit, and then I replaced by video
card, and the problem went away. It seems that the xserver my virge card
utilized had some problems. i am now using the x server for the riva tnt
chipset with no problems.
