i am trying to connect my eth0 device to my network. i am getting an error, conflict irq 0 being used... i am using a compaq deskpro with an installed ethernet card. when i built the rh6.1 box, it installed the tlan module fine. how can i change and how do i know if the irq is a o.k. __

ppp and sportster28.8 modem problems

memory flush.

just curious. i am looking at xosview and when i open an application, memory is taken up which is usual. now, when i close the app, the memory isn't released. is this right? don't know too much about memory and linux. if someone knows how to flush the memory or even if i need to, let me know

machine does not see memory

i added 128mb of memory to my machine and rh6.1 does not see it. i opened up the box, added the memory, configured bios to see it, saved, rebooted. the machine counts all the way to 161mb. i added the append statement to lilo.conf. i boot up, look at /proc/meminfo, and only 61mb are seen. wh

apache image dir

kernel kill

pumpd killing the processor

just got dsl, running pumpd to download my ip from the modem. i activate the eth1 device by hand, not startup, cause it will lock my machine. i usually activate through control-panel. after i do, it locks the window up. now, after i activate, i do get my ip because dsl works. another wei
