It's taken me about a year but have finally gotten comfortable enough w/ linux
to take this step. I want to put winblows in it's rightful place and run it as
an app on my linux box. I have 3 mission critical apps that I have to run on
winblows and the rest of my work is now being done faithfully b
When I tried to verify my /bin/login db I get the following.
$ rpm -V util-linux-2.9w-24
S.5T c /etc/pam.d/login
..?. /usr/bin/chfn
..?. /usr/bin/chsh
..?. /usr/bin/newgrp
Is this what I am supposed to get? What does S.5T c mean?
TIA

This probably a no brainer but I can't seem to get it to work. I recently
changed my printer to an HP1100 and added it to the setup in my control panel.
The problem is Star Office is not recognizing it as my default printer. Can any
one lend a hand on where I can fix this?
TIA

I just run the command:
export DISPLAY=my_box_ip:0
when I do this nothing happens

Just bought an HP1100 because it is 100% compatable with the HP LJ4 drivers.
Set everything up in the printer control panel and when I do an lpr -PHP1100
/etc/sendmail.cf it prints right away but there is a minimal margin and the
print is cut off at the top, bottom, and sides. I tried to adjust th
Newbie question:

Could some one give me some details on what apps I would need to set up a
secure data link between several windows laptops to a 6.1 server over the
Internet? User friendly is a must and free would be a plus.
