HEY!
Very strange:
During install, the building of the filesystem was NOT working
at all (tons of errors, and couldn't mount when finished).
So I had changed the BIOS setting from LBA to NORMAL. Well,
this got me through the install much better (no issues).
Change the LBA settings for your boot device in the bios ...

Been a whiel sinbce I had these errors
It is I think a problem at the second stage of the boot loader, meaning Lilo
was able to find the second stage boot loader but failed to execute it most
likely because of a geometry mismatch of the hard disk.
What you need to do is to edit your lilo.conf with

Do you only have one drive? What is you partitioning like??

Hi all,
I just installed RH4.2 onto a PC, install went fine. Went to boot,
and all it says is 'LI' and that's all she wrote.
I'm pretty sure this issue floated past here before, but I don't
remember the fix. Does anybody know the culprit (and a fix, maybe?)
Thanks,
Joe
