I'm getting a strange message with a new install for RH 9. I was
trying to set up my partitions and I got the message:
Could not allocate requested partitions:
Partitioning Failed: could not allocate cylinder-based partitions.
I tried it two ways just having it automatically choose all the
r
root. ;)

it because I
IMHO the best tool to manage disks - fdisk
and you can format partitions with mkfs

I don't know about RH 8.0, but in 7.3 and earlier, Disk Druid was only
available during install.

I install Redhat 7.2 on a hard disc running Win2K and use Disk Druid for
selection. After installation completed and reboot the PC. There are only
2 items for selection, Linux and DOS. But selecting DOS could not start Win2K

I apologize to Roberta for the mistake. However, it seems to me if she
does want to use Disk Druid, she still can by the expedient of doing
an "upgrade" on the machine. That would allow her to partition any new
drives that she may have, or to repartition any unused partitions. S
A couple of small issues here:
1. The name on the original email is "Roberta" - possibly (probably) a
lady.
2. Unless things have changed recently (alway possible in the linux
world,
as we all know) Disk Druid is not available for post installation
use.
