Sorry, what you have isn't a modem. It's only a DSP (digital signal processor) chip. The modem and sound card are software in the drivers. There are very few plans to write modem software to run these beasts on Linux. It's really hard and they aren't that brilliant when you've done. I recommend

Hi all, I got a used modem here which I beleive it is Mwave sound/modem (ACP) MDSP2780 ; but I had no luck with the driver in IBM page. I thought this driver may only be used in the IBM Thinkpad machine not others, as I plug my modem to the different machine. But the thing is the DOS/WIN driver
