Several months ago I came across a similar problem. Oracle 8.1.7 for RedHat
7.3. Oracle ALWAYS pestered me stating they supported up to RedHat 7.1
(which has the older glibc 2.1 I think). They used this to build Oracle for
Linux and will NOT certify that anything beyond 7.1 will work.
