I had a similar problem with an HP Photosmart I think the work around for installing it as a network printer was to tell it you were doing a local install it complained that it wasn't there but installed then I changed the port. Hi Michael: You only have to setup your printer at your Windows machine just you should do it with a NT server: press Start->setup->printers->network printer browse for your printer at a samba box and you should load your Windows drivers for your remote printer and it should be printing now.
