That's a negative...no staroffice environ var's at all. It's funny,
because when I've searched for an answer to this, I've just found a
couple of other people asking the same thing...no answers yet, though.

Sounds like your StarOffice install.
Did it a few months back and remember that if you
put the StarOffice environs in your .bash_profile , you'll get
the C locale error.
