What makes boot.b?

Installment 6 in my the continuing saga of my upgrade horror. It looks like the problem may be that boot.b did not get created in my boot directory as part of my upgrade (never mind why or read my posts for the last week if you're really interested). I can boot off a floppy but not with

Dear all Can u tell me what is this file resides in /boot/boot.b When I edit the lilo.conf file i get a line install = /boot/boot.b all the lines in lilo.conf file i understand except this one. This file is data file but i don't under stand it . Help solicited very urgently. Thanks

Hi all! I am building a custom system and putting it on a filesystem apart. When I run '/sbin/lilo -r /partition/apart', lilo complains about not finding /boot/boot.b. So, I copied this file from my running linux system, but I wonder if it's safe to do so. If not, how do I gen
