Hello everyone,
I have just started wandering around in Redhat Linux 5.
Apparently somewhere deep down in its gut is a program hidden to assist in
getting an internet dial-up going.
Can anyone help me into the right direction, or point me to the right Howto?
Regards and thanks,
Paul

Um.
I have managed to get things working :) +/- 7.40 kbs
the solution was to remove the initialization string
from the chat script. it appears that the 'modem'
accepts only one 'AT' string from the chat script.
this is my working chat script;
'ABORT' 'BUSY'
'ABORT' 'ERROR'
'ABORT' 'NO CARRIER'
'ABORT

I had a similar problem. Turned out that my modem's init string wasn't
right. The "ATZ" which netcfg was using as a default didn't quite cut
it. I called my ISP and they sent me some to try out and one of them
worked.

Hello !
I want to make a ppp connection between my RH4.2 system and other Win95

For this I want to install a ppp server on my system and to use a serial

2) My system is part of a network, so how can I do this without

Hi,
I ve edited a connection script file /ppp-connect in my root directory as
follow:
pppd connect 'chat -v"" "AT&F1" ""ATDTmyisp_number
CONNECT""ogin:my_username word:my_password" /dev/ttyS3 38400 modem
Then I did chmod +x ppp-connect (still in the same root directory).
But when I execute ppp-co
