I have used the Hustler G7-220 for many years in a high wind area and it has
held up very well. No snap crackle or pop through the repeater during wind.
There is no ice or snow here in So. Cal. so others may want to comment on
their experiences with this antenna in harsh environments. The
I don't think the AFM-24DA is made anymore. That was the 220 four pole
antenna made by Cushcraft. The G7-220 is still available for a little
under $200. Some of the commercial antennas should still be available,
too, since they make them for 220-222 MHz. No retuning should be needed.

Donnie, here's the Tessco site for 220 antennas:

The G-7-220 is a fine omni for the price. Best Ham grade omni. BUT if you
install a DB-224 or an RFS
PD-220 it will work a whole lot better.

I view good to mean commercial-grade. Reliable, high-performance
antennas are available for the 220 band from RFS/Celwave, Decibel
Products, and Sinclair. They're not cheap, and a good antenna will cost
between 500 and 800 bucks. Depending upon your repeater location

Not at www.repeater-builder.com just yet.
I've been contacted by a group that is looking at taking
a Desktrac UHF repeater and building it up in a metal
suitcase for use as a rapid deployment repeater...
Hi all,
I am going to loan one of my repeaters to a local ham club. Does anyone
have an agreement/contract written up for something like this? I've got
some basics in mind but looking for things I didn't think of.
Thanks!

If you end up going with a fiberglass stick, you should
seriously consider side mounting it with a top support.

I have two VHF duplexers for sale. Frequency ranges listed are based on the
manufacturers specifications. In the case of the DB products duplexer it
may in fact tune below 150 MHz although, I haven't tried. Since both need 2
MHz separation they may be more useful for other than Ham use? CAP?
Rob,
You are to be commended for your generosity. It may be a good idea to
clarify the reason for this loan, to avoid serious misunderstandings in
the future. Some issues that may need to be addressed are:
1. What call sign will the repeater have? This determines who must
take responsibility
What model or type are you looking for?
You said inexpensive, would an older Hamtronics unit suit or do you need
something like a Micor or Mastr II receiver?

Is there a formula to calculate the cable legnth between duplexer

from the duplexer to the TX-RX, but not between the cans.

Where did you find (what is) the formula for jumpers from the duplexer
to the transmitter and receiver?
Just something with good sensitivity and the cor. It's really a low key
repeater.

Thanks Eric, all good points.
I am lending the repeater to the local club because they want to try 440 in
addition to their current 2M machine. They have close ties with the site
owner (club member) and that helps. Basically, I have a spare UHF repeater
sitting on the shelf and I'd prefer it
