Wondering if anyone can recommend a good source of used test
equipment?
Wondering if anyone can recommend a good source of used test
equipment? Planning on purchasing a service monitor and would
rather purchase something from a reputable shop instead of taking
a chance on Ebay.
Thanks, Jim, KC1RM

If you have a County RACES organization, many times you can get local
funding as we have here. Also a large Energy Company (Electric Gas) gave a
large grant to the ARES Statewide Group in Wisconsin last year for improving
communications for emergencies. If I remember correctly the Energy Co.

Thats a loaded question! What kind of equipment are you using? High quality
audio in a 5khz environment is a huge compromise. Some like discriminator
audio direct into a non-pre-emphasized true FM exciter.Good for repeated
audio and linking, lousy for any controller or local audio. If you are using
hold the function button down on the side and punch 159357. it will enter
programing mode. display will show semi colon between channel and number
when it's in the programming mode.

Very common in bambulances and fire trucks - they use a relay that looks
like a starter solenoid but unlike the solenoid is designed for continuous
duty cycle - most auto supply and emergency equipment suppliers have same.
Be careful - once got one used with a golf cart - 24 to 36 volt coil would

Don,
I think the relay is more trouble than it is worth. Its primary
function is to prevent the battery from destructively discharging back
into the power supply if the crowbar circuit fires.
A better solution, in my opinion, is a heavy-duty Schottky diode on the
positive output terminal of the

I suggest fixing the problem rather than just masking it with CTCSS. Try
these simple tests. First, when it happens again, remove the RCA jumper
between the exciter and the PA.This will kill the power out but you can
still hear the exciter up close. If it clears up,you have serious
desense.Next,check
