I use Ideal No-Ox on all slip joints and ALL screws. It is available from most electrical supply outlets or Home Depot. It is a gray gooey compound. You must mix the contents before use. There is a clear liquid and I believe the gray stuff is zinc. I do not use the green stuff

The ones I used were from TSC and cost about $1.29Lb. They are standard 1/2
x 20 nuts because you really don't need JAM nuts.
