I do this with a rat shack wx radio and it works flawlessly.. I use an aux
input on my 210 for audio straight from the volume pot and find the mute line
in the radio to run the alarm port. The advantage with this setup and
specifically the radio shack model radio is that it takes care of the mu
Allan,
First off, if it is being used as a desktop station radio (i.e., NOT duplex)
the first thing that you will find is you need to add another radio chassis
to be able to convert it into a repeater - the "DeskTrac repeater" used
separate chassis (plural) for TX and RX.

Hi Allen,
Yes, It's hard pleasing everyone :-) Yes the repeater is based on Vertex
product. Easy for us to do as we distribute for New Zealand and have the
Engineering support from Japan.
Interestingly enough it was the internal battery that dictated the
specifications of our PRU, which i

Gareth,
I like your portable repeater! Is it Yeasu/Vertex based? I agree that an RSSI
controlled repeater could be problematic for outlying areas, so if it was
implemented, we would want to take careful steps to make sure it was
appropriate. My thinking was that the relatively small footprint

Also, RB-Tip has information about the pinouts on the DB25 connectors
on the back.
Hope this helps!

I've got two UHF DeskTracs as well that I would like to push into
service. I'll take a look at MotoOnline and see if they still have
documentation in print.

Mike,
I started with the pre-driver, driver, and than the final stage each separately
by tuning C2 and C9 for minimum VSWR in and max output power. Finally, went
through each stage again tuning C2 and C9 for minimum VSWR, maximum power and
maximum efficiency.
Thanks,

Hi All,
Sorry for asking this group, but I know there is a heap of knowledgible people
on this group.
Right I have a GP328 standard H/H (not the plus model, which is smaller)
The front case got damaged and I got a replacement front to make the radio
usable again.
I have been able to remove the

Allen,
Just for fun our club set-up a 250watt repeater w/o cans. We installed the
transmit antenna on the roof top of the building. One floor down (its a tiered
roof) we installed the receive antenna. We positioned the two antenna so that
they were physically separated by the structure. The
