Tim, I built a "head" for one of these radios as a UHF packet radio.  Do you have a manual?  The connections on the front connector are easy to attach to.  The vol & sq pots are common hook up.  We also moved several down to 420 by swapping the RX and TX reference xtals and using high side injec
