The pre-amps used in the "Mitrex" are the same as the MSR-2000! There are (2)
VHF range of pre-amps.

believe I will keep the TK-630S as a "Low Band" transciever. I has six ch., but
is mechanically locked on ch. 1.

are many rigs out there that would "Fit the Bill" for rpt. use, but having used
the MITREK for rpt., remote bases, packet.
I tend to lean towards the MITREK.If you want to "Get your feet wet", this
would be the chassis for you.(Easy to work on too!!)

I believe the Mitrex used the same preamp, with same "splits"?(If we are
talking about the "plug-in" board, with the slug tuned coil). Should be lots of
Mitrex available cheap.
