What did this test point read prior to changing the frequency?
If you did not verify operation at (or near) the original frequency, you
may have a component failure.

I have had similar problems. I suggest you start again, from the very
beginning. Retune every stage. Sometimes there are false peaks, etc.
Then you need to consider the possibility that the exciter is broken.
Did it work before you started tuning?
