Radovan’s advice is spot on as usual.
Also it might be worth checking the peak intensity as a function of generator mA – it should be linear, but the PSD is easily saturated. I usually compare 5 mA with 15 mA and 40 mA. Frequently I find I have to run at lower current

we have a Raytec detector, also a gas filled wire detector.
Some years ago, we has alomost similiar problems.
May be the wire is contaminated, then it have to be cleaned or replaced?
This was at least the problem with our PSD.
