If you are playing FLAC files using SBS, there's no benefit to embedding
cover art in the FLAC files.
A cover.jpg or folder.jpg in the album directory will do just fine.

Some people (like me) don't want to have to worry about having ancillary
files in order to get their artwork to display properly, and want it to
be easily transportable to other formats including said artwork (via
flac2mp3 for example), so embedded artwork definitely has its benefits
