Hi All, I've decided now I have squeezeboxen that I'll re-rip my cd's in flac format. I need to maintain a copy of the music encoded in a lossy format, probably mp3, for playing on my portable player. Is there a nice handy utility out there than can monitor my flac directory and automatically r

Robin Bowes' program flac2mp3.pl is a Perl script that does exactly what you're looking for. Earlier versions did not embed album art in the MP3s, but I believe the current version does. You can search for it on these forums, or at www.robinbowes.com. -- aubuti -
