What user is JACK running as? It might be as simple as the daemons and JACK
running as different users. I always thought the peak data thing was an Apache
problem but I'm probably remembering that wrongly.

Depending on what you're now and nexting to; you could probably run a script to
do this easily enough. I know icecast accepts a standard url get/post type
deal. Tie that in with an RN macro to the button panel and you're done.

Just had some contact from someone regarding

The page suggests that files can be stored as MP3 provided one has an
AudioScience card.
Am I correct in believing this is incorrect and that Rivendell stores

Thanks Geoff!
That solved my problem. Amazing, all those options in Rivendell ;-)

Yes, think that is for Debian / Ubuntu only

I'm afraid I can't pass comment on SuSE, i'm very much a ubuntu fan, but I
would imagine so. QT3 and polymer without KDE should get you the shiny buttons.

When I saw the 3D buttons on the rivendellaudio.org website gallery, I
immediately liked the look of them, and figured out how to get the Kermic
style on everything, but not the entire theme, just the buttons and window
titles etc... I don't need the rest. I will miss it if it's not on the

Oh and something tells me this is what I need to figure out maybe:
sudo rm -rf /etc/fonts/conf.d/70-no-bitmaps.conf
sudo ln -s /etc/fonts/conf.avail/70-force-bitmaps.conf /etc/fonts/conf.d
sudo fc-cache -f -v
Except those files don't exsist on my older SuSE install.

At the moment I am running older SuSE with KDE. Mainly because it was the
easiest for me to setup a few years back and was what Fred was using at the
time. I haven't looked much in to Ubuntu or Debian - yet, I did notice that
article and gave it a read. I didn't think it applies to SuSE 10.

Just install qt3-qtconfig and polymer, select the Polymer GUI style and
you're good to go. Sorts out ugly-looking fonts too, which I experienced
with RD on Ubuntu.

Hey there,
try /nick NICKNAME and /server irc.freenode.net
If that does not help, you may always use freenode webchat at
http://webchat.freenode.net/. Freenode does have restrictions on
who can connect regarding reverse ip lookups and stuff.
