to start playing if it finds rdairplay not running. Since it also logs the

Not sure why you are having problems with RDAirplay. As others suggested you
should be able to find the problem inside the error logs at the specific time
involved.
As for Log Refresh, I just want to ensure that you clicked the refresh log
button on the screen (and that it lit up)
The machine I ran the tests on is running 1.7.2.
