Why not just link all the stations together with one Rivendell database/snd library?  Use Syncthing to sync /var/snd between the locations.  For database,   you can use GTID and circular replication in MariaDB to have full read/write masters at every station. AND keep them in sync.  I am currentl

I do something similar using jack in combination with avconv. Here is the command line I use for mp2 avconv -f jack -ac 2 -i LABEL -acodec mp2 -b:a 256k -f rtp rtp://*ip:port* This creates a jack plug (LABEL) for the connection, sets the codec, rate, and the destination. It also can support opus.
