Hi all,
Having just built a new system, latest Rivendell on Linux Mint 19.3 with
jackd, up and running but noticing that when I power up the PC or do a
reboot, rdcatchd will crash with an "unable to set realtime permissions"
error (syslog below). If I manually start rdcatchd on the command line
After many years of stable service I finally upgraded a playout system from
2.13 to 3.5 which I did with a nice new shiny SDD and a fresh install on
Linux Mint 19.3. It all went rather well, a few touchscreen fun and
games but overall good.
I copied the /var/snd across and imported the old
Hi all,
Just tried to request a Rivendell Wiki, received this error. (I've xxx'd

Thanks

Hi all,
I'm about to re do my Rivendell workstation and adding a SSD so planning to
re-image now using the CentOS7 Rivendell appliance.

Hi all,
I was finally able to sort out a QT3 dependency issue and finally was able
to compile RD 2.15.3. However it no longer sees Jack. Jack is running and
happy, but when I look in Audio Resources I see no card.
When I did the ./configure I did have Jack Support enabled. Restarting the

I've had this issue with some builds I've done.
Try "sudo rdimport etc", in my case that worked. I had this issue with the
appliance so I used Linux Mint 17 in the end.
It was raised on this group a while ago but nothing came of it.

Many thanks for the response. I had considered all parts as you mention
including the storage and bandwidth (source machine) but good points on
Jack.
Maybe a nice science project for a few rainy night!

+1 for the wish list. I'm forever flipping back'n'forth also find that I
don't often get a true perspective of timings until I load into rdairplay it
starts.
I can see some requirement to either allow/deny some users so possibly ACL
controlled.
Just my 2c as I wait for a delayed plane!
I've configured RD to be able to import logs from a third party and it
works well, with the following exception. I cannot get the any clock to
stick in the grid from Thurs 1300 to Sun 2300. They refuse to stick whether
I do them manually or a Change All. I do get the following error in the
syslog.

In theory innodb is less likely to lose data during a power outage and you
can do funky stuff with MariaDB and clustering if you use Innodb but in
reality you can't really use Riv without MyISAM on at least this table.

Aha, thanks. The way I read the original issue #15 it was fixed in 2.8.2
which is why I thought it might have been a regression.
BTW, nice work on the debian repos, installed flawlessly and I had stuff
