Does anyone know what the default level the ASI card is set for in RD
when the output is set to 0?
The mixer in Win64 was set to +18.5dBu out (as the upstream device is
only capable of this at the moment), but could be set to +24dBu. When I
installed the ASI in RD, I get roughly the same

Yup. Managed fully automatically by Rivendell. The Rivendell syslog messages do
tell you what stream is being used for each play-out though (purely as a
forensic debugging aid).

Rivendell doesn't show or can assign the playstreams

Yes, there’s definitely a bit of confusion going on here; the primary
challenge being that Rivendell, ALSA and ASI all use slightly

Quick issue I've struck:
Song one comes to the segue start maker, short Station ID plays, song
one is still finishing for a few more seconds before song two is allowed
to start, instead of straight after the ID's segue start marker. Have I
configure the card incorrectly to cause this?
I'm also guessing this is about ALSA not HPI.

today, just have to go back and do some more ground work).

Thanks for this info Robert,
I'll tweak this soon for the on-board as it was the cue side of things
pitched up. I made the sample rate change in RDAdmin before importing
anything. ALSA doesn't show the ASI, RD reports it's using the HIP
driver for the ASI card. Since Fred mentioned the
Thanks for the reply Fred.
Slightly different, it shows as 1 output, but 2 inputs not 1. That's a
bummer, it's the only ASI card I have, and that took some slog at work
to save up for that one. I won't be replacing it anytime soon. At least
it's better than my alternatives at hand. Does that

Could it be as simple as a check in the "Show first 100" box when the
library window is open? That has gotten me before.

Hmm trips down memory lane.
So I manually started importing everything through RDLibrary, about 400
songs so far until 8am this morning. Switched it off, came back this
afternoon switched it on, and RDLibrary only reports 100 songs in the
library, but all 400 songs are in the var/snd folder.
Morena Gavin.
The install has probably defaulted to 48,000.
look at rdadmin > system settings and see where it's at.
On a new install it's no big deal but if you have a library you are
copying over it needs to be at the rate the library was created at.
Mine happens to be 44100.
That may
Hi guys,
Just a couple of quick questions. It's been almost a decade since I used
RD and I'm retiring my old machine here and installing RD3. I've done it
via the instructions on the Paravel website with CentOS7.
I've ran in to a few small hick ups with audio. I've got an ASI5111
Rev.F card
