I'm pleased to announce that Rockbox on my Pono Player
running a slightly customized Android 2.3.3 (GB), which has an OMAP3
ARMv7 CPU,
successfully played its first track on the evening of December the 10.:
Sly Fox by KOAN Sound
I will add the Details to the wiki in the next few days.

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but
'download.rockbox.org/cygwin' no longer works because of an update.
The error message is "Cant read INI file," after it downloads the
package list. If the person who's in charge of this could update,
that would be great.
Thanks,

I second that.

false. I have seen numerous hi-fi components listing volume as a

is a problem when there are sound arguments in favor of the db scale.

Many other audio devices use a (mostly negative) db scale as well. The
thing is, most don't display anything at all (either using a knob and no
display, or a graphical bar), but Rockbox needs to display something.
The db display means something, any other method would be completely

This one I reported, and it's obviously not terribly important. Has a
patch by Marcoen Hirschberg that should probably just be applied unless
anyone can argue that it shouldn't. Seems to be caused by a buffer being
too small (but somehow depends on gcc versions).

Thing is, the limit is only relevant to the Archos (and the ifp7xx)
targets, so it'd be a severe step back for anyone using one of the newer
targets with no gain (to them).

What does this mean? Please provide a more descriptive commit message,
especially important for future use, when looking back at things that
changed, to find out why things are as they are.

You probably need to upgrade GCC. What does gcc -v tell you?

Cool, how is the impact on code size/bina
simply a long press
left/right to use this feature. It's not possible to use stop in a
keycombination afaik.

not harder than now!??
My point is, that when you have the simple view, and turn on advanced, a
bunch of settings just appeared, and you have no idea which, or where
they are. This makes it, in my eyes, more confusing than simply always
having all options available.

Jonas H
rasher(at)rasher(dot)dk
fy which options are useless for
most, and only essential for a small group to make the remaining setting
relevant to as man people as possible. Of course it should also be taken
into considerations which options are used often, and which are used rarely.

both coding and maintenance.
But then, I'm quite unlikely to ever put any code on the table, so this
is all just random ideas I'm tossing out.

them there as well, to avoid breaking them?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this has already been committed. Or at
least another patch doing the same.
