I object as well.
If people want to seperate notation to differnet staves, they can put the
segments on different tracks. Mutiple tracks [pint to the same isntrument, so
I see no problem leaving the current behavior as is.
There is even a glitchy, thumbwheel to help you navigate among the over

Aere: It doesn't sound like we're talking about the same thing. This
would not force overdub recordings into the same segment, or change
anything else about which segment a note lives

Bug 1352 can be closed now (or set to pending whatever the current
process is). I don't have bug admin privileges anymore or I would do
