William,
Sorry for being so far behind in my emails. You might also include in
your IG list W3C XSD schemas which is the preferable (but not only)
format GEFEG supports. Thanks.

William,
Another minor twist to your last comments about claims being submitted
to the local BCBS of the subscriber. Not all BCBS belong to the ITS
process where claims are routed between BCBS. There is a possibility a
BCBS claim between BCBS could be rejected.

Doug,
What is your guesstimate of the percentage of large providers that do
directly send you electronic claims? Maybe use the 80/20 rule, the 80%
of your overall claims volume. Thanks.

It has also been known to happen that a clearinghouse would send a claim
to the wrong payer. What would be the procedure for handling this?

I spoke to a Fortune 100 company that is sending HIPAA compliant
employee benefit enrollments (834) to its health plans. None of the
health plans is requiring trading partner agreements (TPA's).

Ron,
I don't think the TPA process works well today given that every legal
department has a different flavor and it is a legal contract. Many legal
departments may not want to loose control over this.
