Is it possible, using the current ACLs in 3.6.0, for a user to be able
to assign the owner of a ticket but not modify the ticket in any other way?
I would like a user to assign the owner of a ticket but not be able to
resolve it.
thanks for any help

We had a problem here over the weekend where apache ran into a memory
limit, and rt couldn't take any connections from rt-mailgate.
I pass mail from procmail to rt-mailgate, and rt-mailgate was failing
with errors like:

I think that may break the regex parsing in MatchPattern() in
CustomField_Overlay.pm. Unless you are talking about doing something
like:
(?#Year)^[12]\d{3}$
becomes
(?#Year)(^[12]\d{3}$)?
Give it a try and let me know how that works for you :-)

Hello All,
I’m wondering if there is a way to make a custom field
a required entry/selection when creating a ticket. Does anyone know if this is
possible?

I know what you mean, and I did something like that in my code that I
backported from 3.5.x to 3.4.x. I added another regex field that said
whether something was mandatory or not, where 1 is mandatory, and 0 is
not:
(?#Year)(?#0)^[12]\d{3}$year, not mandatory
(?#Mandatory)(?#1).
