That error sounds a lot the one you get with earlier versions of rails 4.2.x
that weren’t compatible with ruby 2.4. I’d try the most current version of
rails 4.2.x (4.2.11.1). There shouldn’t be any feature differences between that

same error. I am getting the error that the OP mentioned and have not yet
