Locally the network group is blocking UDP traffic on ports 1433 and 1434.
Tried a telnet session from another subnet. This time I got a partial reply
before the connection was reset.

Everything seems OK except builtin Telnet server. It works but is extremely
sluggish. If you request a list of all activive checks, it times out.

what I could see via the interface but about all I could gather was that the
COM checks had to be installed in some manner. Can you elaborate on how the
COM check works, and maybe give an example of where you see that going?
