pre-defined strings and then do something with the messages based on
that string (or strings). You can often send an alert to your desktop
based on those "rules" and then put those messages in specific
mailboxes

sources. Does anyone have any suggestions how I could 'poll' a POP3 mail box
and 'read' the incoming alerts.
