We have gone to large ESX in all of our production and QA environments.

I think almost all of the linux distros are using the /proc filesystem.
You can find anything you want in there..
cat /proc/cpuinfo:
rocessor : 0
vendor_id : AuthenticAMD
cpu family : 15
model : 47
model name : AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+
stepping: 2
You should install the latest Proliant Server Pack from HP. That has
full alerting on a windows machine for hardware failures.

We use SA on VMWare ESX
Server 3.0 on dual core dual Opteron boxes. SA runs faster on that than it did
a dedicated dual CPU XEON server.

I am having a problem with saving a new configuration in Servers Alive after it
has been up and running for a couple of days. Basically what will happen is I
will VNC into the server, add/update the current running configuration, go to
File -> Save and I will get the following pop-up:

I was getting alerted the first time (as described in the initial email
from Greg) when running SA on W2K3 STD. When I switched over to W2K I
was no longer seeing that behavior. I know that's not a ton of useful
information but I figured I would throw it out there.

hasn’t worked out for you. I’m stating the obvious but win2k3 is a
lot more looked down that earlier versions.

To answer your questions:
1. The remote systems can be either
Windows 2000 or Windows 2003. I am having the same problems with both.
2. SA is running
