Title: SMS to Orange UK
No
subscription is necessary as far as I'm aware, it's just not the
most reliable of dial-in points

Title: SMS to Orange UK
Hi,
I'm
sending Alerts to Orange mobiles all the time from a uk location and I've
found the most reliable setup to be the following:-
Comm
7E1
Baud
9600
SMSC
07958879889
Protocol
TAP
I know
this is going across networks but it seems to be more stable
I think that goes for all of us, in IT rule of thumb - "Never Assume",
except in SA where the assumption is Dirk is always right :) :)
Keep up the good work Dirk!

Dirk,
I like this idea and maybe if possible a nice way to do it would be an
additional level to the new tree structure you have on the main checks page?
For example:-
My Entries
UNIX Server
UXSERV1
Ping check
Disc space check
UXSERV2
Telnet check
Ping che
%t %d
BUT
currently if there is prettyname then %c will show the prettyname and NOT the description
of the check. This will however change in the next upload.

Dirk,
Are there any additional variables within
SA V4 that can be used to expand the detail level in the alert message other
than the default %h %s etc.
For example, at the moment we get
Servername prettyname is DOWN at time date
for %h %p is %s at %t %d
Can we make this
Dirk,
Scrap that last request, we now have it
working correctly, it was a further small change to the firewall to do with NAT
translation that was casing the issue. Thanks for your help so far.
Regards,
Darrell.

What exact version of SA are you using?
How did you test? Via the setup? Did you specify
a"default TO" and a
default message?

Agreed,
unfortunately not an option within this company but thanks anyway.

Dirk,
I have the same results on the network here and you are correct it is not a
problem, if the LAN is setup correctly and has suitably high speed
switches/backbone a return of 0 ms for a ping test is perfectly normal for
devices which exist on the same LAN.
I did some checks to verify this and

Had a similar problem when installing ours, if you have a registered copy
and install the V4 over the top you must enter the new reg key before
importing the old hosts file otherwise it stops at the 10 entries and
truncates the existing file.
Fortunately I had backed it up!

Dirk,
Just about to upgrade to version 4.0, a quick question, I
know I can import the old hosts file but will I be able to import the old
people and team's files? Or will they be picked up automatically provided
I don't erase the old version first?
Thanks and regards,
