For the external COM checks it's not possible. From our point of view
an external COM check is something that is full external to Servers
Alive and doesn't have access to the Servers Alive settings, and the
person settings are part of Servers Alive so ..

authentication instead of username and password? We are in the process of
changing passwords again and Server's Alive is always sticky.
