the home directories are in the netapp server and the samba server is the main
server for my company.

I updated to todays CVS 2.2.4-pre release,
and I disabled in both excel and word the "feature" to save
files every 10 minutes for recreation.

times on accounts either via UNIX or Samba.

If you keep copies of everything in /etc/samba and put them back in
place of the files that are defaults after re-install... everything
should work just as it did before the reinstall. I have done this on
multiple sites with 100% success.

I have been trying to get a samba server running on a sun host to join a NT
2000 domain without much luck.
I am running:
o - W2K in Native mode with two domain controllers (TOPAZ and TZI)
both at 5.00.2195, service pack 2
o - Sun Host ZIRCON running Solaris 8; path level 10

I was running samba 2.2.1a. The client was a member of an NT domain and
did domain authentication for allowing users to connect to shares.
I upgraded to 2.2.3a. Before the install, I backed up the MACHINE.SID and
secrets.tdb files. After installing 2.2.3a, I copied the backed up MACHINE

mentioned below, and the problem still persists. I don't know if the size

c compiler that ships with HP. THis compiler is primarily provided to do

I would like to browse a directory residing in a OS/2 Warp 4 PC from a
Linux running samba 2.2.3.
I know how to use smbmount, since syntax it's pretty similar as when
mounting a shared Windows partition.

Seems Win9x Explorer is showing all file dates as 4 hours earlier than linux
is showing. We are in -5 time zone, so that isn't the difference. Anyone
