Sounds similar, but in our case, it just takes forever to start printing
and then once it does print, it comes out as normal.
It may be an issue only with Windows 2000 machines, I'm using an XP

packaging section to bundle up the compiled programs for easy
installation/removal.
Now I have just downloaded the source for the latest stable release, 3.0.14
