I'd start by checking there is no problem with the server disks,
something like :
- generate a 10 GB file with random data on the server
- calculate the MD5 of the file
- copy the file
- check the MD5 of the copy is correct
Create a script doing that in loops and let it run at least a few hours.
My Question: I got a 1000mbit/s network,a Suse10.1 Server with samba
3.0.23 and a Windows xp Clientmachine.
If I start a copy-transfer on the XP machine from the linux to the XP I
get ~35MB/s.
Copying a file von XP to Linux I only have ~1,5MB/s.
With FTP I get ~70MB/s in both directions.
