My problem can be described in the following way.
- getent group and getent passwd work well , when I add or delete
a user from one group the modification is displayed with getent
- I chown user:group over a file in samba the user from that group
can access it

I am setting up printing services on a Suse 10.1 server useing Samba 3.0.22
I can create a printer on an XP client and connect to the Samba printer
share. I can the print a test page from XP.

3.0.23 I cannot access any shares on my Linux systems except for the
home and printer shares. My configuration has not changed since 3.0.22

A workaround is to create local domain group in forest GC, and nest group from

You can't expect to get support for samba 2.2.7 these days. Upgrade the RH
server to the latest 3.0.2X release then come back if there are any problems.

Yes, as both client and server - although we'll be fixing a client
bug with 3.0.23b (soon) - this was introduced in 3.0.23 (3.0.22
and below client signing code works fine).

Hi people, Im currently using samba 3.0.14 on a debian stable with a cups.
Im able to export my cups printers to samba and set the drivers, the
cups drivers.
The problem im facing is that when I go to the printers share thru a
