I am running Samba 3.23c with Ldap.
Recently I changed my password via smbpasswd on the PDC.
The mailserver and the Webserver (both are querying a replication
of the ldap) have the new password - also a W2K workstation does but
on the WinXP clients that are using the domain too I have to us
Just installed a new SAMBA-LDAP-PDC server on my network. I followed
the Linux Samba-OpenLDAP Howto, revision 20060710, so I would assume my
setup is correct.

after some investigation, it seem that is a problem with cups. -> The
printer work fine but i use the detected printer on my networks to
create the printer queue.
I dont know why it doesnt work

I tryed to manually create the printer share
"HP_LaserJet_4100_Series_172.16.11.21". But it doesn't work at all.
The rpcclient always show me the same error.

this morning. My server wesson is the PDC of domain ENSEIGNEMENT.
I receive the following error. I use samba 3.0.14 (Sarge) and
openldap as backend.

What does smbclient -L localhost telling you?
Have you tried starting smbd from SWAT? Does it start there? Also, have
tried re-installing Samba in case a file has been corrupted?

Hi,
i try to set up a samba print server with cups, but when i use the
cupsaddprinter command, all copy start & stop with no problem, and
when the rppcclient command is launch to add the printer driver, it
fails and show me this error:
# cupsaddsmb -v -U root -a
[...many lines...]

Yeah I did, but Brother is not very helpful: all they have to say is to
use Windows drivers...

manufacturer...they should have a testcases for this...it might be a driver
or application problem...
