I'm trying to set up Windows browsing between subnets. I've set up a domain
master/WINS server on the .0 subnet, and local masters on the .42 and .254
subnets, and I'm running into the above error on one - just one - of the
subnets. The strange thing is that I'm running exactly the same version
hello Dave,
I'm still trying to understand how to check all the traffic with
ethereal (now wireshark) as you wrote a few days ago.
I had some troubles installing wirshark server side so now i'm doing the
tests from a client (XP).
Now, I will also check out your suggestion to use tun0.

Folks -
This is somewhat off topic so please reply to me off list. I just figured
that if you are working with samba - you must have _some_ experience with
workgroup printers.

Hi,
This is fine for a standalone server.
"workgroup = " simply defines the name of the workgroup of your server.
You can set it to whatever you like, SAMBAGRP is fine, most windows
machines use WORKGROUP or MSHOME for example.

Hi,
I saw this setup on the web .. is this looks right to you ?
The security set to user level, which use linux samba local login and
password.
Why this needs to set workgroup = SAMBAGRP ?
[global]
workgroup = SAMBAGRP
security = user
passdb backend = tdbsam
Thanks
